Amor America could be defined –unfairly- as a new perfume line created by Natura.
The scents, original, complex, intense and extraordinarily descriptive, are just the esthetical expression of a project that goes beyond. They are an excuse –through fragrances that represent Latin America and its diverse and generous nature- for us to talk about something more important: we, Latin Americans, have something beautiful in common, we have this amazingly diverse land, that should keeps us together, beyond political divisions, passports and customs bureaucracies.
That’s why the word Amor (Love) goes before the word America.
That’s why we use the name “Amor America”, based on the title of one of Pablo Neruda’s poems from “General Song”...


Before the wig and the dress coat
There were rivers, arterial rivers:
There were cordilleras, jagged waves where
The condor and the snow seemed immutable:
There was dampness and dense growth, the thunder
As yet unnamed, the planetary pampas.


Natura started to develop the perfumes inspired by the beauty of this concept, developing alliances with local communities, through a group that included anthropologists, journalists, photographers, local farmers and all sorts of interesting people who joined along the way. They explored a sustainable way to develop a first stage of scents that were representative of our biggest regions. That’s how the scent of the almost unknown Paramela was discovered, a Patagonic weed that holds the fresh silence of that infinite region in the southern part of the continent; and that’s how they got to the profound and liberating feel of the Andes through the richness of Palo Santo.

“Frontiers” is a testimony of the spirit of that trip, in which we found scents and emotions, but above all, we found people. It is an explorative journey that showed us how absurd and arbitrary borders are, as well as any prejudice or superstition that separates us. The shooting included eleven countries, but the truths and stories we found could be found in hundreds of countries in all continents. Because the essence of Amor America comes from Latin America but applies to the whole world. It is about the simple beauty of unity and brotherhood.
